Privacy
This website has no accounts, no forms, no advertising and no analytics, and it sets no cookies of its own. This page explains the little information that is handled when you visit, and who handles it.
In detail
What happens when you visit
Who we are
sixminuteson.com is run by Jon Cowan, who makes the Six Minutes On… films. For anything about this notice or your information, write to [email protected].
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic details of each request (the page asked for, your browser type and the time) in order to deliver the page and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is not an automated attack. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Fonts and the 3D watch
The site's typeface, Inter, is served from this site itself, so reading a page makes no request to Google or any other font service.
On larger screens, the 3D watch on the home page uses the three.js library, loaded from the jsDelivr content network, which also receives your IP address. See jsDelivr's privacy policy. Phones are shown a still picture instead and do not load it.
Watching a film
Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you choose to play a film. When you do, the film plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that point YouTube, which is part of Google, receives your IP address and may store information on your device, as it does on its own site. Closing the player removes it from the page. See Google's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Links to YouTube, X and Bluesky take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. Nothing is shared with them until you follow a link.
If you email us
Email to [email protected] is forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing to our inbox. We use your address and message only to reply, and do not add you to any mailing list. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful, and delete it on request.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. We hold almost none, but we will always answer. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If the site changes how it handles information, for example by adding analytics, this page will be updated first and the date at the top changed.
